STORIES FROM THE COMMUNITY

Amit Shah (Parent and Friend of aProCh)

Thanks to the wonderful initiatives of aProCh, people like us get the chance to reach out and bring smiles to innocent children. The experiences through aProCh have been very heart touching for my family & kids too

Mr. S. Shivakumar (Park Manager, Sundarvan)

The mural made and kept by children at our park is beautiful. In fact this has added the colors to our park. This is the place where visitors come and take picture. We thank aProCh and all patrons for such a wonderful initiative for the city.

Mr. Guruprasad Mohapatra (Ex-Municipal Commissioner, AMC, Ahmedabad)

Children are our future and if you involve them at a very young age in matters about the city’s prospects, the city’s problems, their role in the city, how is the city growing, what is the expectation of the citizens from the city – aProCh is a good attempt to sensitize the children toward the city and their role as an emerging citizen

Dr. T J Purani (Ex-trustee, C N Vidhyavihar)

aProCh is the first and presently the only city-based initiative that we know of which reaches out to the children especially children from disadvantages groups. How they are treated by their city today will largely determine how they will treat their city once they grow up. If the seed is sown now, it will blossom in future.

Manish Patadia (Child participant) On Parents of the Park

Being outdoors in the park is fun, I get bored at home.” Here in the park I have things to draw like this leaf, I’m drawing a leaf. They also teach us art forms, but if we wish to, we are free to do our own thing. I like the open environment. I have made many friends here and it’s so fun to sit and talk while painting. I even insist my mom to bring me here, it is just so fun.

Saket Shah (Parent) Parents of the Park

Parents of the Park brought me closer to my daughter and made me appreciate her artistic side” Here in the park I saw her painting for the first time and I think she did amazing, but best of all she likes doing it and being her father I felt like I knew nothing about this aspect of my child. Parents of the Park gave me an opportunity to spend quality time with my daughter. I feel like we should all take a break and spend time with our children in an environment like this and we owe them an environment where they have no pressures and can freely explore their talents.

Varsha Patel (Parent) Mov’ing Experience

Programs like this bring all of us together so that we can do something for our children. Not only for their future, but to make them happy in their present” We are from a middleclass family and can’t afford to take him to some costly amusement park often. When I heard about aProCh, I couldn’t understand what it was, but wanted to try anyway. My child attended varipus programs and I felt a change in my son. He was playing with the kids and was even making friends. The environment here is so cheerful and accepting that he loved it.

Mayank Akhani (Partner) Street Smart

aProCh works for an issue that often goes unaddressed” I wanted to do something real, something I could see the effects of first hand. I got to know about “aProCh” through an NGO so, I visited an event and felt that the work they are doing here is very transparent. It helps children and addresses an issues which nobody normally considers. I felt like I found the perfect way to do my part. Ever since I started volunteering in these programs I feel content and that’s something I have been searching for a long time.

Komal Shah (Volunteer)

The cause of “aProCh” is important and we should all do our part for it” I started bringing my children to “aProCh” programs for their benefits. I wanted them to enjoy and learn things. The environment here felt lively and upon thought I realized how important the cause, that “aProCh” is championing, is. Overtime I realized that I can’t just think of my own children, but rather should think of every child who is at these programs. Ever since I started volunteering at these programs it makes me feel happy.

Rutul Joshi (Supporter) From Urban Practitioner, CEPT

We need to redesign and reimagine our Streets.” As a child, I had cycled mostly everywhere but can’t say the same for today’s generation. With the challenges of traffic, climate change and growing cities, cycling can be one of the important option to tackle them. I am glad that aProCh has realised this and working towards it.

Madinaben (Partner) From Sarjan NGO

I have experienced and learnt new things with our children” As an NGO, our children get to study but going to various places for fun and learning has been only possible through aProCh. Children at the centre wait each month for some or the other program to attend. I also enjoy with them. I saw 3D movie for the first time with them. Now I can tell children about it.

Arvind Vegda

I am associated with aProCh for more than 15 years. The idea of aProCh is excellent as it provides spaces for children to play, interact freely and safely in the city. This is nostalgia for us for our childhood.

Jayshree Lalbhai

The best part of this initiative is that it didn't remain one time event and sustained till date with same energy and enthusiasm. That says a lot about the idea.

Ipsa Sharma (Child Participant)

I love Parents of the Park as we get to learn different activities and skills. It is fun and I get to meet other children too. I enjoy a lot here.

Vanshika Shastri

I have been associated with aProCh as participant and volunteer both. aProCh is about wellbeing of all children and done creatively so everyone enjoys their roles.

Engaging kids early in city matters fosters future civic responsibility. aProCh sensitizes children to urban issues, their role, and citizen expectations, shaping them as responsible citizens.

Dr. T J Purani (Ex-trustee, C N Vidhyavihar)

aProCh is the sole city initiative targeting underprivileged children. Their treatment by the city today shapes their future attitudes. Planting seeds of care now ensures a blossoming future relationship.

Mayank Akhani (Partner) Street Smart

aProCh tackles overlooked issues. Discovered through an NGO, I witnessed transparent efforts at an event. Their work supports children and addresses neglected problems. Volunteering fulfills my search for purpose.

Komal Shah (Volunteer)

I bring my children to 'aProCh' for their growth. The lively environment made me realize the importance of its cause. Now, I see beyond my own kids to all children in these programs. Volunteering brings me joy.

Madinaben (Partner) From Sarjan NGO

With aProCh, our NGO children experience both education and fun. Monthly programs are eagerly anticipated, offering learning and enjoyment. I joined them for a 3D movie, a first for me, now sharing the experience with the children.
